Upon returning

After being gone a few days, I arrived back home expecting to see grass and weeds growing out of control and flowers and plants dry and panting for water.

But, the grass is green and flowers and blooms are everywhere. I came home to an ancient rose bush that survives everything that comes its way. I don't even know it's name.

It's flowers are huge with layers and layers of petals. And it's fragrance is that of any favorite perfume.

It's an old bush and has been neglected,  sad to say. It needs some TLC this weekend.

Helllloooo from Coyote Canyon

We couldn't say no to an invitation from our oldest to Arkansas RV camping with them and their friends.

Though, the objective is to supply housing and backup support for their little one while they were on treacherous four wheeler trails with adults.

While the adults were away in the daytime we blew bubbles, rode the little bike, searched for bouncy balls that bounced behind the couch, and rode into town one day.

The adults first day was a 72 mile rocky boulders trail up the mountain. The second day was a 68 mile easy trail with caves and small water falls.

The third day was the easiest day with a short easy trail ride for all with a little rock climbing, water falls, and mountain creeks.

And river rock skipping and throwing rocks to splash.

We collected a few rocks to take home. I came away with a real white quartz rock. Not quite big enough to redo my kitchen counter tops though.

Home Spa Day

Company came. So we made it a girls day with dress-up, a make-over, and a mani-pedi.

What mawmaw wouldn't make it extra special, extra fun. Even if the mom and dad needed to chill just a bit. I don't know why the parents were getting a little  nervous.

She did my face, too. She kinda went with the Monster High look of those dolls that are on the shelves in the stores.

Then the mani-pedi. She was so in to this. Her mom polishes her nails and toes often. But it's just something new when you're allowed to have complete control and do it yourself.

Tho, there were a few spills on the floor, and on the clothes and I had to act like and say everything was fine, no problem.

Her mom gave in and let her do hers after I persuaded and bribed her to participate in the fun.

I think the mom actually enjoyed the moment.

Company left. What happens at mawmaws stays at mawmaws.

The parents wanted to kill me for letting their child do this. Especially when I was out of nail polish remover when it got time to clean her up. We did get the make up off and get her back to clean.

Team Care

I played the part of chauffeur, doctor, nurse, pet sitter, medication giver, and all around house guest while my patient has oral surgery and recuperates.

Funny how everyone laughs and has a lot to say except the patient.

I'm protecting the innocent here with a photo edited picture with a hat because we all know we don't want our picture taken when looking our best is not a priority in pain mode.

Well wishers came with comfort food and to check in on her which makes for an easy job for me.

TEAM CARE consisting of me, her dog, and all her well wishers and deliverers of food did a fine job getting her well.

Just call me and I'll be there.

Whenever you call me, I'll be there
Whenever you want me, I'll be there
Whenever you need me, I'll be there
I'll be around, yeah

Whenever you call me, I'll be there
Whenever you want me, I'll be there
Even if I have to call, I'll be there
I'll be around

Just call me on the phone, I'll be there
I'll never leave you alone, I'll be there
Just call out my name you know I know you know
I'll be around

Spring in the wilderness

It's been spring for a while. Way before the official day on March 21st or so. Only complaint has been the rain, the floods, and more rain.

But things are shining bright and giving shout outs to spring.

Azaleas were the first to welcome spring. The bridal wreaths are cascading down with white. Roses have tiny buds bursting open. Deep purple iris' are in full showing.

And lavender wisteria hanging around beautifully. This one wisteria combined from two plants on the front fence at the roads. They began as tiny wild runners that we pulled up along a deserted side of the road about 7 years ago and replanted them at the fence. They grow and grow and grow and bloom and bloom and bloom every year at the beginning of spring.

The only down side is they don't last very long. The flowers will be gone very soon and only an abundance of green leaves will be there. So it has to be enjoyed and shared while its at its peak.

Hello April

The first two days of April have been gloomy with a little sun peeking out now and then. It makes me antsy and fidgety. I need something to do to calm me down.

I went by Hobby Lobby to get my fix. Fabric and fancy trim is good medicine.

My vision for a Singing in the Rain themed preliminary pageant for Our Little Miss is a spin off on rain gear colors and duck print fabric.

It quite possibly will all come together in a few days.
