For me, it would be racing and softball. The weekends have begun with both keeping us busy. </p><p>We made it to the dirt bike races this weekend. It was very close to home, so that’s how we pick and choose which race to attend to watch Brandon & Cohen race.</p><p>Cohen raced the kids race Saturday. Brandon was with the adult races Sunday. But we only went for the kids Saturday race to watch and support Cohen. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgD9--vDf6NoJrNTYYwq4siHtLFLdY7pNKUs0uSHTAK_lcFQCLhgkj6C6lwJl3J6wTVcILUqfYOtLB3Mbz-vyCOqngkRTYNFIqBTRgmavKm9nvVM6UbjHRUzrihPlR7DtV6HJV8zP12-P1Qt_QpltYnJ-RjepYt7JCxYhXOYwrPdGzqjMqazWwPhq38/s4032/3A919840-148E-47B7-8AF8-F23BE0516C6E.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgD9--vDf6NoJrNTYYwq4siHtLFLdY7pNKUs0uSHTAK_lcFQCLhgkj6C6lwJl3J6wTVcILUqfYOtLB3Mbz-vyCOqngkRTYNFIqBTRgmavKm9nvVM6UbjHRUzrihPlR7DtV6HJV8zP12-P1Qt_QpltYnJ-RjepYt7JCxYhXOYwrPdGzqjMqazWwPhq38/w300-h400/3A919840-148E-47B7-8AF8-F23BE0516C6E.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p>This year he moved up from the peewee division to the big kid division. That means he’s one of youngest in this age group and has to have a bigger bike than last year. So this year it’s a new playing field for him all the way around with older competitors and a bugger bike. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk3FJ52_Tpzc6w3PeUfoJOAiBxVbv8rKYyMgLYjmK4UsM-ATYP44Z-uiJvNDflThCJ1vud4BLSJ1KwrHPmOp3YGlIRG_Fx04BOFvYUftv3vFcgNV7DdZydMOLFeBlxEu3v-Z6uoZQGHn2DWmH8TCjDHkwNTzsWxGbdiNEJXkUJw-T4o9DuhQ7qpcok/s1334/3D63950B-7CD9-46FB-9647-55F7F2A284F4.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1334" data-original-width="750" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk3FJ52_Tpzc6w3PeUfoJOAiBxVbv8rKYyMgLYjmK4UsM-ATYP44Z-uiJvNDflThCJ1vud4BLSJ1KwrHPmOp3YGlIRG_Fx04BOFvYUftv3vFcgNV7DdZydMOLFeBlxEu3v-Z6uoZQGHn2DWmH8TCjDHkwNTzsWxGbdiNEJXkUJw-T4o9DuhQ7qpcok/w225-h400/3D63950B-7CD9-46FB-9647-55F7F2A284F4.jpeg" width="225" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNgcScokCCHTf9ZWuz3z3q-TRDOfLeHx6XqXW3brBxiPASYYHox-mdmN5K0KusttNLkeSkr64n7bc0Nx2KIFrE13s7moawtr3byCM2tPARf2WmCU9Im9Z2sDwJ1kN5s5UVHfopoAxpkv388Vz-RInrxFlNvO7gWMXasbBxjme5TKL3mC0EafzEYNMs/s4032/DA278C01-2003-4C7A-8A5F-5ECE09DD1310.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNgcScokCCHTf9ZWuz3z3q-TRDOfLeHx6XqXW3brBxiPASYYHox-mdmN5K0KusttNLkeSkr64n7bc0Nx2KIFrE13s7moawtr3byCM2tPARf2WmCU9Im9Z2sDwJ1kN5s5UVHfopoAxpkv388Vz-RInrxFlNvO7gWMXasbBxjme5TKL3mC0EafzEYNMs/w300-h400/DA278C01-2003-4C7A-8A5F-5ECE09DD1310.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;">It’s ok he didn’t get 1st place. So I’ve been busy with some things. </p><p>First, a burlap wreath. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4KF9U34-jZqeCsnnN3WWROcRVfgFvFybum68W5lE9R5fAI-5Rq_xjx1xKjzW_hT4yHTSLxMu-1fGmr2UATgWh-ANWv07JLg58VzMjGjc7KS_qaA4soe3ychVna2emRVEob4sqp0mBrpiSfdFPTkGaZzYwBAL_cvAzJsQH8tXd9iTucpJHoQNCanAw/s4032/B9FCCFFD-254D-4685-8E6A-5F7CA3CAB94F.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4KF9U34-jZqeCsnnN3WWROcRVfgFvFybum68W5lE9R5fAI-5Rq_xjx1xKjzW_hT4yHTSLxMu-1fGmr2UATgWh-ANWv07JLg58VzMjGjc7KS_qaA4soe3ychVna2emRVEob4sqp0mBrpiSfdFPTkGaZzYwBAL_cvAzJsQH8tXd9iTucpJHoQNCanAw/w300-h400/B9FCCFFD-254D-4685-8E6A-5F7CA3CAB94F.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p>It’s simple. It’s 18” diameter. It’s things I had in my stash, so no new money spent on supplies. </p><p>Supplies needed:</p><p>34” length of stiff, but bendable wire </p><p>12ft roll of 6” burlap </p><p>Your choice of ribbon </p><p>Hot glue </p><p>Thread center of the width of the burlap onto the wire using the end point of the wire as a needle to gather the burlap onto the wire. Gather burlap to your desired fullness/tightness and then hook both ends of the wire together to form a circle to create the wreath form. </p><p>Make bow from your choice of ribbon and attach to wreath. Glue a jute rope piece onto back for hanger. </p><p>I had to make a bunny door hanger to be in the Easter decorating mode. I free handed drew a floppy ear bunny on cardboard. I did measure from side to side to be sure ears, feet, face, and body were rather symmetrical on each side. Larry cut it out with a box cutter. I wrapped the bunny form with chunky yarn to give it a fuzzy feel and look, using hot glue along the way to keep the yarn in place. Made a fun bow and a yarn pom-pom for the bunny tail. This bunny is huge/ 28” tall and 18” across. But oh so cute!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBLyQ7B010RVGnSj0CkeGFnOUGPSkidpSW6fQ6ulY1kH1O1RZQ4YuxtrtP84mjE6oNRhYGphNglpaWOItO5dqXLavqNTZucwkdiZxPvzFskcvkCfrfaXnYfQUnoXAElvc5icikFqUaDFj191TuMYrOxoMdz8pObeH8LpLGzWdog6wFSgtpUEeZzicg/s4032/A59076AF-2DC3-4ABA-A4D7-3C03783E515D.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBLyQ7B010RVGnSj0CkeGFnOUGPSkidpSW6fQ6ulY1kH1O1RZQ4YuxtrtP84mjE6oNRhYGphNglpaWOItO5dqXLavqNTZucwkdiZxPvzFskcvkCfrfaXnYfQUnoXAElvc5icikFqUaDFj191TuMYrOxoMdz8pObeH8LpLGzWdog6wFSgtpUEeZzicg/w300-h400/A59076AF-2DC3-4ABA-A4D7-3C03783E515D.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p>The burlap wreath and the bunny door hanger have found a new home. Jennifer, my daughter, claimed them both for herself. </p><p>I enjoyed making them even tho they didn’t get in my decor. Try making one of them for yourself or to give away. They are soooo easy. </p><p><br /></p><p>Gin </p>ginhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06663102392501972394noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1496586469087376001.post-7935983673289665752022-03-20T22:29:00.001-05:002022-03-20T22:29:00.191-05:00Beautiful Day For A Ball Game<p>The sky was blue, the sun was bright, the breeze never stopped at the ball park today. Do you old enough to remember the flour sacks from years gone by? I remember them from my the years with my grandma. I am in the possession of a lot of them from my husbands grandmother. I’ve had them now for years and years. Sine are plain muslin, some have the printed brand name in them. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi1WlApW6gFNEYohdsUzJTu4osiwj92plyl41my5xcJY7g3k1SqikiPoR8zXxoODUPg29SQkXItVcku4fyRfQNQ224sXEWKR0Ed0wKSH-GFlAlJcDtIRqg88GRCjq4RYtsOisI_8LXptaBuZaQVEn5mnv1gbqG6uJSvKfNr5k9m7Ejd_OEBFMZlUNKU=s2443" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2443" data-original-width="1832" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi1WlApW6gFNEYohdsUzJTu4osiwj92plyl41my5xcJY7g3k1SqikiPoR8zXxoODUPg29SQkXItVcku4fyRfQNQ224sXEWKR0Ed0wKSH-GFlAlJcDtIRqg88GRCjq4RYtsOisI_8LXptaBuZaQVEn5mnv1gbqG6uJSvKfNr5k9m7Ejd_OEBFMZlUNKU=w300-h400" width="300" /></a></div><p>Anyway, it’s high time I enjoy them. My plan “A” is to turn the vintage flour sack into a flower sack. See the comparison there - flour / flower ?</p><p>The ingredients I needed: flour sack, 5” wide burlap ribbon, 1.5” burlap ribbon, napkin with design of your choice (I’m using bunnies), flower bouquet, mod podge or Elmer’s white glue, paint brush or sponge brush, scissors, hot glue gun. I think that will do it. </p><p>First step is to cut the napkins motif object out fussy cutting around the object, separating the layers of the fabric so you only have one layer, and use a motif that fits in the width of your wide burlap ribbon. My flour sack is 18” around, so I need about 5 or 6 bunny motifs from my napkin. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi_jIl2-nBpdAIgrbZbp0J7RED7L8DcKGeX-FJV8ooN4ocXeH9j2gw2MWQrKOFvHp_ac2Xj3V3g4CfJO8dXXlFv571QH8j_xkl3HjRPIRj1uha1GKWyKNguXDkROPc6su4_Rx0NqjVSZTnAoSNJMldC8SQ6NBVMEQ25h5B6pl6PYyznU9QY3vd6sfH5=s1003" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1003" data-original-width="650" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi_jIl2-nBpdAIgrbZbp0J7RED7L8DcKGeX-FJV8ooN4ocXeH9j2gw2MWQrKOFvHp_ac2Xj3V3g4CfJO8dXXlFv571QH8j_xkl3HjRPIRj1uha1GKWyKNguXDkROPc6su4_Rx0NqjVSZTnAoSNJMldC8SQ6NBVMEQ25h5B6pl6PYyznU9QY3vd6sfH5=w259-h400" width="259" /></a></div><p>Mod podge the napkin bunny motifs on the burlap ribbon spacing then to your desire NOTE: you can use Elmer’s white glue in place of mod podge, it has the same effect to adhere and seal your motif in place and also dries clear. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgVWRI-qK8xsfhAtpSzmoU5vO4o1V5uvBgaH8utIrBgAihamnFJpEacWDNcu1eR4I4friC57TQtLYr63d3NmeCMQp63LNY3yTLaKbBHtdVy_9CDv_8vv9PfaMBSDC-HAYk6-I3MBctADAtUY20fKPyHYZWirLZppdrXn27qy-isPZOd1mtzS2Oty9ao=s734" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="377" data-original-width="734" height="205" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgVWRI-qK8xsfhAtpSzmoU5vO4o1V5uvBgaH8utIrBgAihamnFJpEacWDNcu1eR4I4friC57TQtLYr63d3NmeCMQp63LNY3yTLaKbBHtdVy_9CDv_8vv9PfaMBSDC-HAYk6-I3MBctADAtUY20fKPyHYZWirLZppdrXn27qy-isPZOd1mtzS2Oty9ao=w400-h205" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p>You’ve made your own bunny ribbon!!! </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhiOW2IMo7Z_FpAI05lhSZQharGSuFb4Ft81uEr_tTcDaMxhfkz9Hdl6Xt62k9mcgbVI59UrLof0Qj8YdY8jm4R7eiIqa-dJ_DYlzmQuo0wPnuZ1ck_BYQU38jp-4cb2Er07P3YqGSGAupjn2DSY15KS0x4rM2m-vD4K0VsEi5vtWUFeXiHCNJ-GXtO=s1214" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1214" data-original-width="750" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhiOW2IMo7Z_FpAI05lhSZQharGSuFb4Ft81uEr_tTcDaMxhfkz9Hdl6Xt62k9mcgbVI59UrLof0Qj8YdY8jm4R7eiIqa-dJ_DYlzmQuo0wPnuZ1ck_BYQU38jp-4cb2Er07P3YqGSGAupjn2DSY15KS0x4rM2m-vD4K0VsEi5vtWUFeXiHCNJ-GXtO=w248-h400" width="248" /></a></div><p>Lay your bunny burlap ribbon you made on the flour sack and get ready to glue it in place. It’s a passion. It’s enjoyment. It’s my downtime. It’s my therapy. </span><span style="text-align: left;">January got 2 quilts in the books. One I had committed to making a quilt for a huge organized softball raffle for Brooklyn’s league. They have a great list of terrific prizes to win - a grill master grill, large flat screen tv, $100 gas gift card, Visa gift card, sack of crawfish, and the quilt. The drawings are Feb 19th, so it’s ready and packaged in plenty of time. </span></div><p>The quilt pattern is vintage star. Of course, I put my spin on it and made it bigger and bigger. The bigger the blocks the quicker and easier it comes together. </p><p>Here it is. </p><p>it <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhYsnJ2jsdqSe78AHFWH0WCb49Cs5uK-yDPyfWbKScIAgOBYejSOF2VBi9kEXdyZKSp4hFtJPrXxMxmPLbUjr2y9GFh-zztZz0FWBoYzxk3uHtyvcuNinjRNnauNXvuFIYsqAlpy71fE3mdGvA7OYinuLAY0XS4h0Fve4Tlu3cHDSbQQnCD7sKsAlN3=s4032" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhYsnJ2jsdqSe78AHFWH0WCb49Cs5uK-yDPyfWbKScIAgOBYejSOF2VBi9kEXdyZKSp4hFtJPrXxMxmPLbUjr2y9GFh-zztZz0FWBoYzxk3uHtyvcuNinjRNnauNXvuFIYsqAlpy71fE3mdGvA7OYinuLAY0XS4h0Fve4Tlu3cHDSbQQnCD7sKsAlN3=w300-h400" width="300" /></a></p><p>The blues and lavenders are really bright and vivid in person with a thin gold metallic outline on the print designs. I whipped up a few Valentine hearts to decorate with and a few to give. I’m doing a marathon of valentine pretties the next few days while I have nothing else to do. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhoXpJDvS4FzT0RO3X1V9vBze4C0S7URKpGxOLCgu5_nlbEondSSxsMX1RK4I36FmQdvERirNcSQxFpXMLbBgrADV1XH_lYW1PQaussHp8Fq2L1yKzRR9rELsSDnE0-pUi2CIzLFSXRBhFYvArY4b64914nWty4nTUihwuved7qUgezi_l42kxq1SdX=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhoXpJDvS4FzT0RO3X1V9vBze4C0S7URKpGxOLCgu5_nlbEondSSxsMX1RK4I36FmQdvERirNcSQxFpXMLbBgrADV1XH_lYW1PQaussHp8Fq2L1yKzRR9rELsSDnE0-pUi2CIzLFSXRBhFYvArY4b64914nWty4nTUihwuved7qUgezi_l42kxq1SdX=w300-h400" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p>Because come next week a quilt is in the works for a donation to a girls softball league raffle happening in mid February. I’m just patiently waiting on the fabrics for it to come in the mail. So in the meantime I’m loving all things Valentines. </p><p>This pretty lace heart was simple. Gather one wire clothes hanger (or comparable size wire), lace or decorative cloth, assortment of ribbon, flower or some sort embellishment, glue gun, and scissors. </p><p>Bend and shape the hanger or wire into a heart shape. It really forms easy. Just push and stretch and shape till you get the desired look. Put the wire form in between two layers of the lace or cloth. Run a bead of hot glue in sections around the wire, laying the lace or fabric in place on top the wire and press with an object into place (not with your finger because you will get burned from the hot glue). Complete one layer of the lace or cloth then turn over to be the other side of the wire in the same manner. You should now have the lace or cloth hot glued to each side of the wire having a top and bottom layer. Cut with scissors around the outside of the wire trimming off the excess lace/cloth. Now you have a decorative heart shape. Use ribbons, trims, embellishments to decorate and finish it. I put a ric-rac trim around the perimeter and a flower group and ribbons as a streamer in the corner. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiSgjSnQNLs2mTf__LH6WkxhCcsyhCeIb9tYGdbX6YCLpGa0gGFN2wRXa8U_kFaf7ErC1vvCcP0LrzVkNGdMl2BWSmsFh0Ln2QgGfVBZgVsVJGIfrU4vBvWOHL4gvpXqrcPgvrqj6boxZa2CGyuyWGIk74wUMs07bZcCjXQrk4KS4jPwFfbWc6iYpZK=s3930" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3930" data-original-width="2602" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiSgjSnQNLs2mTf__LH6WkxhCcsyhCeIb9tYGdbX6YCLpGa0gGFN2wRXa8U_kFaf7ErC1vvCcP0LrzVkNGdMl2BWSmsFh0Ln2QgGfVBZgVsVJGIfrU4vBvWOHL4gvpXqrcPgvrqj6boxZa2CGyuyWGIk74wUMs07bZcCjXQrk4KS4jPwFfbWc6iYpZK=w265-h400" width="265" /></a></div><p>I love it! Tutus are always cute, but the super hero cape came out just as cute. </p><p>Fast forward to this year and that same super hero cape was pulled out of the closet toys and the younger brother was enjoying it. This mawmaw jumped into action and just had to give him his very own super hero cape. Mainly because it had the name initial “C” and he’s an “E”. And secondly, it’s a great keepsake and they can both have there own. Plus, there are 3 little boy grands and only 1 super hero cape. That doesn’t add up, so I made 2 new super hero capes. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgpYBokn9Q0_DkmxPhYnmlY4THffnrN05XCmGcoc9hWfXNnni2GhWOJ1l0DVz9hnV-cmCKdFumoBr8F56DZGFnVkiTPOW65BmlAoNAWN6XB-PmFNtJr0tQQkCjvLbpZ0XxeZTY0UXWZs1DmH2L4y6fLebwzsgQvEREK1fJxnpoHs9HeWoU_8xUUWLHR=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgpYBokn9Q0_DkmxPhYnmlY4THffnrN05XCmGcoc9hWfXNnni2GhWOJ1l0DVz9hnV-cmCKdFumoBr8F56DZGFnVkiTPOW65BmlAoNAWN6XB-PmFNtJr0tQQkCjvLbpZ0XxeZTY0UXWZs1DmH2L4y6fLebwzsgQvEREK1fJxnpoHs9HeWoU_8xUUWLHR=w300-h400" width="300" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p>It takes ~~~~ </p><p> 1 yard for the outside </p><p> 1 yard for the lining </p><p> 1/2 yard for the collar/binding/casing & initial </p><p>I folded the fabric and cut on the fold the following measurements ~~~</p><p>42” across the bottom </p><p>18” across the top neckline shape </p><p>24” down from center of back of neck to bottom of cape </p><p>Cut the name initial in any form you would like by first making a pattern on paper then transferring to the fabric. The initial is about 8” long by about 8” wide. </p><p>First, pin or spray baste the initial in place on the right side of the outside fabric. Then appliqué in place. </p><p>Place both fabrics right sides together and stitch all around the edge 1/4” in leaving a 3-5” opening for turning inside out. </p><p>Press edge/seam down and stitch small opening for turning closed. </p><p>For collar/binding, sew this piece to outside neck line? Then flip over to inside, pin in place allowing for the circular neckline to lay flat and not pucker or bunch up and then sew in place, leaving 1/2-1/4” opening at each end to thread the drawstring through. </p><p>Press edges down. Thread a ribbon or some type of yarn, etc. through the casing /collar/binding. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEivDvqwyPH_ZiBFQpapYKI50fktehumoHhDLkN8McqxMfcNHzzOq7iOomed8HvcbN4vP1RI_AjKBIeh5iZVZBnjJH-0yBNu9GzCypJcBQHgLAfcOrE-5r091P4zHAw4bjQbN6oITWiBqT-Zmgs9iwaUwNrQyPJkk36zqAC94Wcpihpg0oroKz94Mb6K=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEivDvqwyPH_ZiBFQpapYKI50fktehumoHhDLkN8McqxMfcNHzzOq7iOomed8HvcbN4vP1RI_AjKBIeh5iZVZBnjJH-0yBNu9GzCypJcBQHgLAfcOrE-5r091P4zHAw4bjQbN6oITWiBqT-Zmgs9iwaUwNrQyPJkk36zqAC94Wcpihpg0oroKz94Mb6K=w300-h400" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p>And there you have it. Read <a href="https://www.blogger.com/blog/post/edit/1496586469087376001/7387059092634157300">here</a> to see.</p><p>Today I’m going to prep my cooking - chicken for the dressing, potatoe salad, pecan pies, pecan pralines, & Oreo balls. And Larry frying 2 turkeys. Others are contributing their specialities, too. </p><p>My Santa gifts are ready. We just have to load the truck tomorrow with everything and truck over to our oldest sons for Christmas with the family. Our kids have started wanting Christmas at their homes so every year they take a turn. I miss the hustle bustle of them all in my house, but I also enjoy the little bit of relaxation while enjoying everyone and everything at the kids houses. I’ve always been intimidated by the Irish chain pattern, but I took on the challenge and was pleasantly surprised it was not hard at all. I made 10 of the blocks, sewed them together, then cut the front of the stocking out of it. Then a back for the stocking in white, 2 cuts of the stocking in white for the lining, polyfill batting, stacked together, then sewn together. Made a hanging tab and top border. All this times three for three stockings. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNeK6LgNOw5_BoJNuYYIAMWcjp5DHFsk1Qo-3RGBV-szpNsEAa0e5EkxwlMw5jykITWK399ffTZnH2Mao3QP_R2YAoPRS9FEXvjQaRWWClfkNlgas7Eg-H6lWeMtubzcfAq9Wr14AzcQ4/s2048/3B7121D4-8711-45DC-BAE3-25B37F869983.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNeK6LgNOw5_BoJNuYYIAMWcjp5DHFsk1Qo-3RGBV-szpNsEAa0e5EkxwlMw5jykITWK399ffTZnH2Mao3QP_R2YAoPRS9FEXvjQaRWWClfkNlgas7Eg-H6lWeMtubzcfAq9Wr14AzcQ4/w300-h400/3B7121D4-8711-45DC-BAE3-25B37F869983.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div>I’m hoping last minute sewing is done for now. Brooklyn has been sick with strep for a few days so her dad kept her out of the game (he’s the coach) to have everyone safe from catching it. So that’s marked off the list for me to do. The dirt bike race was moved to another location and was too far to travel to go for the day so that’s marked off the list. </p><p>The only show left was the dance recital. And it was so good and cute. It was a Christmas show with Santa, the Grinch, and the Reason For The Season. </p><p>Brynlee, in the 7 year old elementary division had 2 dances and was the cutest elf. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinPIjFheTo9OaejCxxwi-3LxBSA-YZKEOFTxjAWVIN6Fs-xziZ5BZVPc_xFagGl7fMkt_JUH6_qn_S4V5hfcOECj3sVPlE70Esm-BPSByejMOVQiOpVDK1oBStxrWlRVFQmRGrbsBcaVo/s1800/F5C021E5-6B75-485E-9545-C16F6C627BBD.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1800" data-original-width="1201" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinPIjFheTo9OaejCxxwi-3LxBSA-YZKEOFTxjAWVIN6Fs-xziZ5BZVPc_xFagGl7fMkt_JUH6_qn_S4V5hfcOECj3sVPlE70Esm-BPSByejMOVQiOpVDK1oBStxrWlRVFQmRGrbsBcaVo/w268-h400/F5C021E5-6B75-485E-9545-C16F6C627BBD.jpeg" width="268" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>The second appearance they were dressed up elves. Some were not happy. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQBzg0CBZPz2WlqvDAxfDqpdxvXhFY4hmv4krNTTUiQkNeJQyXFajBc3B4dy22EkbCP59B664AxMvbsbtbKPZemXKAX4ahmx8CM6ywXn7Qu5LmVcs3Nfc-_f041pFRi3IsC3iftguHuvY/s1125/7A787BBF-EA06-449C-916D-6A9D49F6D8C1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="844" data-original-width="1125" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQBzg0CBZPz2WlqvDAxfDqpdxvXhFY4hmv4krNTTUiQkNeJQyXFajBc3B4dy22EkbCP59B664AxMvbsbtbKPZemXKAX4ahmx8CM6ywXn7Qu5LmVcs3Nfc-_f041pFRi3IsC3iftguHuvY/w400-h300/7A787BBF-EA06-449C-916D-6A9D49F6D8C1.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>This year my plan was to make my people happier. I decided on matching shirts and a banner. I ordered iron on names with a Santa hat design decal. I bought black t-shirts, ironed the names on, thinking this would be much easier than changing into pjs. I made the banner by buying a blank canvas pennant banner from Walmart and 2 packs of shiny letters from the dollar store. Easy, simple, and kind of pretty. All this right under $50. </p><p>Here’s how the pictures went. </p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivy_O29mNhZJXGuNy88VzilgheDU8Rl4Fv5C3bBx6eUEopRqFKnoQE6x1aJPRQD5h9GKkTGgvSIoOiEWutDGMSZQ3-TjGAsOadnZGzsEbMQ0MMjpzEV5hkcD23LOpETMl8cmAHhHxva0E/s2048/DAEE19B9-DB5C-4007-86A5-E989B7667935.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1186" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivy_O29mNhZJXGuNy88VzilgheDU8Rl4Fv5C3bBx6eUEopRqFKnoQE6x1aJPRQD5h9GKkTGgvSIoOiEWutDGMSZQ3-TjGAsOadnZGzsEbMQ0MMjpzEV5hkcD23LOpETMl8cmAHhHxva0E/w231-h400/DAEE19B9-DB5C-4007-86A5-E989B7667935.jpeg" width="231" /></a></p><p><br /></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP9HfYbowTlY6Rlx0VOy_XKpvAZOw6I8flfSb92UttP5yfbrmNLQJu60XLWHex6VEVLAe08VZEJyAy6q4v4qPtlEwVaqAj-HKQh1idI8X-O3QUaVh6T_-WrmzKsT1N1xJ_fP1DVjSn5_o/s2048/450BBBCD-DE95-4A4D-B47A-979698890F3B.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1208" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP9HfYbowTlY6Rlx0VOy_XKpvAZOw6I8flfSb92UttP5yfbrmNLQJu60XLWHex6VEVLAe08VZEJyAy6q4v4qPtlEwVaqAj-HKQh1idI8X-O3QUaVh6T_-WrmzKsT1N1xJ_fP1DVjSn5_o/w236-h400/450BBBCD-DE95-4A4D-B47A-979698890F3B.jpeg" width="236" /></a></p><p><br /></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimbrgjkb7f96-b-nu9_zyxR_MjwJwSnVbv3fDEqxYnhxTjOOB9oaxVkTvGTHfDjJHBID9I9MB2Sc-n11GHLbMx1bFyN1im3qocfW9zUr5mgBJhR-t0WgWTOAK8lQTrFEf_La4sNsSuKPM/s2048/4A90B767-978F-43E3-92A3-37A61B3D843A.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1177" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimbrgjkb7f96-b-nu9_zyxR_MjwJwSnVbv3fDEqxYnhxTjOOB9oaxVkTvGTHfDjJHBID9I9MB2Sc-n11GHLbMx1bFyN1im3qocfW9zUr5mgBJhR-t0WgWTOAK8lQTrFEf_La4sNsSuKPM/w230-h400/4A90B767-978F-43E3-92A3-37A61B3D843A.jpeg" width="230" /></a></p><p><br /></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX6KOy331ixxi3zHu69J1oMDuIPZSZp8MYKUbp4tqzm0xpTphCxOqZlEngaklJuE4DpZA3bZr2dvWPtRs5xZlZCYMR_etJLTDbokmPuOxgysnGNTruFNBWhEA08FTu1U1iZ1P7Cujk69I/s2048/BF7EA976-DD04-4C2C-A1C7-94F67CBF8D11.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1180" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX6KOy331ixxi3zHu69J1oMDuIPZSZp8MYKUbp4tqzm0xpTphCxOqZlEngaklJuE4DpZA3bZr2dvWPtRs5xZlZCYMR_etJLTDbokmPuOxgysnGNTruFNBWhEA08FTu1U1iZ1P7Cujk69I/w230-h400/BF7EA976-DD04-4C2C-A1C7-94F67CBF8D11.jpeg" width="230" /></a></p><p><br /></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdKt6zl-5c998TPj04ygWpIMJIzzNBu6yP0pLIZj-f-64rm3UFVkZbnaKZTUAvVck2g-uV6T5BBYnwq3eO7VHHx7pTsQn48y7MgCTpqYVq_kzbE5qsFrs1-frTwsyQHhAvotEZ2dvEn0A/s2048/E73506A3-4149-4AE2-9BF6-55264509E203.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1171" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdKt6zl-5c998TPj04ygWpIMJIzzNBu6yP0pLIZj-f-64rm3UFVkZbnaKZTUAvVck2g-uV6T5BBYnwq3eO7VHHx7pTsQn48y7MgCTpqYVq_kzbE5qsFrs1-frTwsyQHhAvotEZ2dvEn0A/w229-h400/E73506A3-4149-4AE2-9BF6-55264509E203.jpeg" width="229" /></a></p><p>My vision was all in a nicely straight line, holding the banner, smiling with the matching shirts showing. It’s all cooked and eaten with no pictures to document. My own personal tradition is I make 3 spare dressing mixes with a side of broth that I gift to my adult kids to take home and cook the next day to have some fresh cooked dressing of mine that they love. I give it ready to cook so it doesn’t sit out all day and then they either travel home or stop at their other side of their family for visit. If I don’t specify right away that I have a spare stash for them they will ask me if I made the spare ones. So as a mother does, I spoil them even as adults. I did make 4 spares this time, one to give to my sister who would enjoy it the next day. <div><br /></div><div>A Chris & Brooklyn stayed over to go hunting and Wyatt came over to stay while his parents finish the remodel of their farmhouse bathroom putting the floor down. Go back and read <a href="https://www.blogger.com/blog/post/edit/1496586469087376001/7387059092634157300">here</a> about what needs to be done in a small amount of time. </p><p>The new dishwasher shopping was a blessing in disguise. The first day we looked I refused to pay $600 plus for a dishwasher. It was looking like I would just do without a new one. All appliances have gone up in price and are few in stock. The guy at Lowe’s have a hint to check back the next day for early Black Friday sales. We returned the next morning and bought the only dishwasher in the sale for $299, marked 1/2 off. That’s on my thankful list. </p><p>I leave you with my eye appointment story. My eyes are so bad, I’m really blind as a bat, eye dr said my sight was beyond help with a new prescription. I see an eye specialist next week. Probly bad cataracts. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBvaphyjbotwmVpg8ffNlPpdOUL6J7R47rw2mR1xN-8EAw9-h1VcUTV6k_5vi2snsQVBUh01xJUOGJlcWFn_tPlmMZ83_EyKx1DUmUGUQ6ZB5t0JvnXEUEOEIsp5XlyoSQU8y18oQtqmk/s1000/C533FD4D-5997-4489-A04C-052BC910EB0E.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="750" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBvaphyjbotwmVpg8ffNlPpdOUL6J7R47rw2mR1xN-8EAw9-h1VcUTV6k_5vi2snsQVBUh01xJUOGJlcWFn_tPlmMZ83_EyKx1DUmUGUQ6ZB5t0JvnXEUEOEIsp5XlyoSQU8y18oQtqmk/w300-h400/C533FD4D-5997-4489-A04C-052BC910EB0E.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><div><br /></div>Gin<br /><p><br /></p>ginhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06663102392501972394noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1496586469087376001.post-34781367470198789982021-11-24T20:00:00.001-06:002021-11-24T20:00:00.210-06:00Girls Day <p> Holiday / Schools out for a week time with the 2 grand girls for 3 days. Sometimes I have all 3 big grands for school holidays, but this time only the 2 girls. So we have done what girls do - shop, cook, decorate, shop again, craft, and shop. We’ve been busy is an understatement. </p><p>They use their own imagination to make something out of things they like in my craft stash. They are very creative. They get it from me I think. In big I’m meaning big blocks. The bigger the block, the quicker it’s finished. The bigger the block, the easier it is. Maybe that’s just me, but I do prefer bigger blocks to make up a quilt. Though, I’ve made some with as little as 2” squares, but not many. <p></p><p>This big block quilt is called Vintage Star. The original pattern is big. But, of course, not big enough for me. So I doubled or maybe even tripled the size of the pattern to make a very large quilt. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD6yDMR3uYEUqSCyaydLmlmNfTUx77t-KBRxtrxWSNcaM2TEzQwa4qAG7x-bqgI7XVu1FnCw9Snpm_Pm2l8OeF76vOhlhy2vU29el5BbVpIWHT0M52tbhspnSpzzR-FytMuIdrg1dbVJE/s2048/19B7E126-ED1B-42F6-A0D8-A6B9E83953A4.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1987" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD6yDMR3uYEUqSCyaydLmlmNfTUx77t-KBRxtrxWSNcaM2TEzQwa4qAG7x-bqgI7XVu1FnCw9Snpm_Pm2l8OeF76vOhlhy2vU29el5BbVpIWHT0M52tbhspnSpzzR-FytMuIdrg1dbVJE/w388-h400/19B7E126-ED1B-42F6-A0D8-A6B9E83953A4.jpeg" width="388" /></a></div><br /><p>It’s made with a Kaffe Fassett designer fabric line.
