Hello Kitty and Projects # 2, 3, & 4

Hello to the multi-million Kitty fictional character. I found some oh so cute Hello Kitty fabric in etsy.

It's one of a kind. One in pink. One in red. A very small portion of each with hearts and a Valentine in an envelope held by Hello Kitty. It's probably the last of its existence in the universe and it's in my stash. But not for long, because here's my Project #2 for the year.

Did I mention I love, love, love the price!

I put together 4 different fabrics to make ruffles and bows for a Valentine pageant.
There are velveteen, sheer glitter hearts print, the little kitty sheer, and marabou trim.

I'm picky, picky about matchy, matchy. So I also found these oh so cute heart Helllo Kitty tights. Perfect match.

I'm looking for best fashion winner and winning Queen in the baby group .

Then, hello! There's this for the runway for valentines.

The cute fancy top is my favorite. Can be worn with or without the jacket.

Betting on a win, too, in the sassy 2 year old division.

The Coldest Night of the Winter

On this coldest night of this winter I spot a little deer in the road.  He/she does not dart across the road as the car comes near like all deer do and you slam on your brakes cause you know you are both going to run into each other.  Or when there are several darting across the road in a line formation, one right behind the other, and you luckily barely missed colliding.

This was a little lone deer who was stopped looking around probably for his/her mama who had probably already darted across ahead of her little one. I stopped to watch and make sure he/she got safely across before another vehicle came upon him/her.

As I inched along he/she walked parallel to the road until I tooted my horn in sequence. That did the trick and he quickly darted across and jumped into the forest.

I just hope his/her mama waited for her little one to find her.

Little Projects (#1)

Yes, there will be weekly projects in 2015. If you recall I posted 26 projects in 2014.

My first project of the year was with these little helpers.  I was babysitting all day with them and added a little project time in our day.

Take 3 little ones, times 1 project, plus happy little fingers that were uncontrollable, equals a special little keepsake handprint.

I found the kits on the after Christmas clearance shelf at 90% off. It's an actual form of polymer clay that you turn into a handprint.

1) Knead the polymer clay, form into a ball and roll out on aluminum foil.  It actually included a little rolling pin in each kit.

2) A circular plastic ring was included to form the clay nice and round.

3) After ump-teen times of making handprints in the clay, we finally settled for almost perfect prints.

4) A small perfect hole made in the center top to put a ribbon for hanging.

5) And my addition of glitter glue to paint each hand print came out so pretty.

6) 48 hours to cure and harden.

No pictures taken during the process because it was 3 against 1. Me being the 1. Needless to say I didn't have enough hands to take pictures.

I sent their projects home with each one.
And many years from now I can tell them the story of this project.

On a side note, I still have my very own similar handprint from when I was a little one.
