A little work going on

Two swaps in July going down! One was aunt pitty pats pot holder swap. The other was YOE.
This is a crocheted sun bonnet pot holder .Never made one quite like this before. But I wanted something different. Found the pattern on the internet. It was quite easy to make.

And the YOE for July was snails. This is a softie stuffed snail. It's a conglomeration of different patterns. I just kind of went with it and this is the creation it became. It kinda took on a life of its on. It's suppose to be an enchanted snail anyway.
Now I have Alice to think about. There is an Alice in Wonderland project here.

In closing, It just wouldn't be right if I had a water feature picture and didn't show you.  This picture sent to me via iphone courtesy from Jennifer's weekend trip to Destin, again.  I would have loved to been there myself and taken my own pictures but I was Molly sitting.

Picture Perfect Friday

It's something how a little rain and sunshine can make such gorgeous flowers. And we think we are the ones that grow such pretty flowers. If it wasn't for the rain and sunshine they wouldn't grow.  And with only a little help from us, we get this picture perfect shot.

Leave a comment and we'll come see your picture perfect shot.

Picture Perfect Friday

Seems I can't get enough of H2o, Vitamin D, SPF40, and 99 degree days and some nights are in the 90's   So, in order to stay true to summer fun, here is a fitting picture perfect shot.

Sleepover

It's a sleepover for the dogs.
Molly spent the weekend while her mom went to Destin.
Molly and Poochie are not the best pair in getting along. Poochie says her relatives come over and eat her food, play with her toys, wear her clothes, sleep in her bed,  and get her treats. We're sorry Poochie, but you have to share and be nice to your family.

Blog Bash 2010

Welcome to everyone visiting from Brittany's Blog Bash 2010.

A little introduction:

I'm a southern girl  -- in actions, words, and where I live. I did live further south near the ongoing Gulf oil spill in LA, until 5 years  ago when husband  (of 35 happy years) and I moved about 90 miles north from my forever home. We moved to the wilderness, (thus my other blog titled "mom in the wilderness"). I joke that either I move with him or get a d-i-v-o-r-c-e.  (No divorce yet). We left behind 3 kids who are of adult ages in their 20's with married lives, engaged, and dating lives of their own. And left behind all my family - father, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. That's why we go home a lot.

And  now a few Q&A for the Blog Bash 2010:

 1. Why do you  blog?
I first started blogging because one of my sisters had a blog first. And I wanted to be like her. But now thanks to her, I have my own motives and that would be to use up my alone time, since I am an empty nester.  And I like having a glimpse into the lives and homes of other bloggers who are almost just like  me.

2. What do you blog about?
I blog about anything - our family, our dog, the crafty side of me. I make quilts, crochet, sew, etc. I must confess that I blog surf (or rather blog stalk)  more than blog post.

3. What do you find to be the biggest reward you get from  blogging?
It is rewarding to meet other bloggers from far and near. And its a way to share with family and friends what's on my mind and have a written record of stuff going on with me.

4. How long have you been blogging?
I've been blogging since the end of 2008.

5. Let's hear the story behind your blog title.
I'm a softie when it comes to family and friends. Every moment is a precious memory that I want to keep.  Therefore, Keepsake Moments became the title.  But, (there's always a but) I am more of a private person than a person airing all my clean or dirty laundry on the www. So 90% of my keepsake moments are not kept on my blog. Go figure!

Thanks for visiting and ya'll come back.

Picture Perfect Friday

It's Friday. TGIF. And I'm wracking my brain to come up with a post.. You wouldn't want me to air all my dirty laundry over the www, well maybe you do, but it's not gonna happen.  I would rather show and tell you something nice and sweet and maybe even funny.

All week I've been sitting around waiting for some packages to come in the mail. We have shopped on line and placed a few orders. One order is on its way from Bass Pro. Certainly it's not for me, but some lures and fishing things for the husband.  If it doesn't arrive today, he will have to hit the water without them tomorrow. I won a beach give away from semislackermom's vacation giveaway a few weeks ago. It consists of a sand beach bucket. That should be fun. It should arrive soon.

Work is exhausting. Monday-Friday 9-5. If I actually was busy the entire day I could have a reason to be exhausted at the end of the day.  My exhausting, tiring day stems from the results of a totally boring day, after day, after day..  It takes all the energy within me to stay there all day until 5pm with nothing to do. I keep telling them they don't really need me. But they haven't fired me or gave me my pink slip yet. I am still hoping and waiting.  Yes, I know, I should be thankful for a job and a pay check. I told my co-worker they should move the computer off my desk. My eyes are going bad from looking at the computer screen all day. Those cards are bad on my eyes. Because of the card games and real estate listings I'm gonna need a new contact lens prescription.

I'm even doing this post at work. That's what happens when you get too comfortable in a zone. I'm gonna get up, walk around, slap myself around till I'm awake, and try and find something productive and creative related to my job description to warrant my paycheck that I will be getting at the noon hour.

I will leave you this picture that I actually took at work a few months back. There was this dog I saw out the window dodging cars in the street. I went out and rescued him and brought him in the office. He had a collar but no ID tag. One customer saw him in the office and just so happen to run into the dog's owner on the street, who happened to be out looking for his dog. The owner came to the office to claim his dog. AND, the dog lived exactly across the street. He was not lost, he just couldn't get across the street.

Hence, Picture Perfect Friday.....

Ahhh, the hotter the better

I have to say it again, "I LOVE SUMMER".
It would be fine with me to have summer year round. I like it 99 degrees, with shorts and shirt everyday.

Put me on the water. Put me outside. Put me on a road trip. And I will  be a happy camper.

I'm true to my astrological sign. You can take me out of  the water, but you can't take the water out of my mind.

Boat riding

From dawn to dusk.

I like it outside from sun-up to midnight. No housework, no cooking, no domestication for me. --Ok, I do have to make beds and  eat something. But that's all I'm gonna do. I like playing outside the best. I plan on getting a lot of this in this holiday weekend.

Hope you have a good holiday weekend too!
