Lunch & lunch again

Starting the week out with lunch.
The cow impersonator was rather entertaining.

Day 2 at lunch was the same time, same place, same cow. I think the cow recognized me cause it made an effort to wave at me again.

Hunting Houses

Men hunt. Women nest.
 That's what they say.
True.
But I say men hunt, women shop.

Anyways, we have been building hunting blinds for the hunters. Build them and
They will come. Meaning the guys in the family will come for a comfy weekend of hunting. They come any way during
Hunting season, but endure a wet, cold ground or tree. We've fixed that.

With surplus wood, tin, and a smorgasbord of building material laying around we have built a few hunting houses for their pleasure.

They all look similar to this. The back has a full door and steps have been added. The front and 2 sides have drop down wide narrow windows for watching, aiming, and shooting, all while being
Camouflaged, of course.

I spray painted the outside in a camo design. Spray paint was the only thing we actually had to buy.

It keeps getting better. The inside is set up for an all day affair of hunting and never leaving your nest.

We've had the camo screened burlap forever tucked away for a special use.
We made curtains in a roman shade kinda way, so when the wood windows are dropped down the camo screen will drop down for cover. Walls and ceilings are sealed with caulk so no pest will crawl in.

There is a comfy chair, a tiny side table, and a battery operated appliance.
The chair for watching out the window or napping.
The tiny table to set up lunch.
The battery operated appliance (aka power source) for heat, cell phone for  music, tv, etc.

This should keep the guys occupied and in the woods for the whole day while girls go shop.

We have 3 completed so far.  We want to add 1 more.  It's been fun building and decorating together. And finding surplus free stuff to use.

Starting Early

My 2 little ones have made the 1year mark and it seems they have grown up so much since they made the big 1.

One is 4-wheeler riding already on a power wheel. They teach them early around here.

After a few lessons, Cohen knows just what to do.

Where oh where are my little babies?
They are growing up way too fast.

Fair Winning

This is another winning crown post.
The baby division 12-17 months at the
Livingston Parish Fair Pageant had 11 participants.
And little Miss Brooklyn got 1st runner up.

Of course we wanted queen, but 1st is the next best.

It's really exciting to win or place.
But like all competitions,
we may not win or place everytime
One must prepare and do your best,
compete for the right reasons
and enjoy it because It's something you want to do.

We've enjoyed the pageant scene.

Yayyy Brooklyn

Banner Re-Cap

The DIY birthday banner I started here was completed and
And was a success.

I did add a heavier printed paper layer to each banner
Piece. And a curly ribbon taped on the back of each
Banner piece with a longer dangling ribbon on
each beginning and end of each word.

I taped the beginning and ending of each word to
The window curtain.

It was just what I envisioned. I got the idea from

Happy 1 Year

Happy Birthday Brooklyn!

Another little one turned one celebrating with birthday cake, ice cream, food, presents, family and friends.

Celebrating In a princess sort of way.

Fun.

Complete with my DIY bday banner. You can see it in the background in the window.

Rainbows

Tropical storm Karen sending showers upon us. There is sprinkling rain, blue sky and storm clouds and rolling thunder all rolled into one.

And there amongst all that is a rainbow.

It's an awesome sight to see. And our conversation turns directly onto God and His promises.

Then there are two.

A mighty view made by a mighty God.
I can't help but praise and thank God for his promises.
