The Graduate

Love, love, love this Pre K4 Graduate.

Love watching him grow and learn and experience so much.

Loved celebrating with him and his parents and his other grandparents.

T-Ball Entertainment

T-ball games are the best. Kids are totally themselves and Cohen surely doesn't disappoint.

He hits pretty good.

He's got the running bases thing down pretty well while giving us a smile as he runs by.

And they rotate positions infield and outfield.

And he throws in some pretty funny actions to keep us entertained.

He's a ball player all the way.

Great days spent at the ball park.

just because

Weekends are made to do something. Like a weekend away in the RV as camping season gets in full swing with perfect weather a few weekends ago.

Day time filled with hikes, bike rides, and outdoor games and cookouts. Nite life with campfires and glow sticks.

Happy camping to us.

More Spring Break Days

With my sprained ankle, we managed to pull off some decent playtime in the woods.

Everyday we went on a "hunt" as they called it. Riding in the trailer behind the four wheeler.

And stopped along the trail at the guys hunting houses to inspect.

The walkway changed colors over the day with sidewalk chalk.

Spent some of everyday swinging high. But , oops, but one did fall out once. No injuries, just some tears.

Once we built a campfire and cooked our hotdogs and marsh mellows for dinner.

And we pretend camped, with one asleep.

Spring break is almost to an end.

Spring Break

I fulfilled my mawmaw duties for a few days on spring break. We picked them up on Tuesday and brought them home with us for three days. Took them
back on Thursday and I stayed over on  Friday.

To fill our days we first stopped in on the great grandma. The youngest of the generation visits the oldest generation. They were happy to oblige for pictures.

Great Grandma shared her left over Easter basket candy with them.

The little ones were very entertaining to her.

Lunch time was upon us and gave us a good excuse to say our goodbyes and head out.

Start of Spring

I had spring fever for sure. I wanted to spring spruce up the yard. Start house spring cleaning. Maybe a veggie garden. Easter has come and gone. And I did none of the aforementioned.

Instead we did a short, close to home spring camping trip to a new RV resort about an hour away from home and met the kid campers. It's going to be the bomb for summer stays. There's the kiddie pool area, adult pool area, kiddie play ground, pool side grill restaurant, kayaking, paddle boarding, a lazy floating river pool, and who knows what else. It's a big place.

Bad news - all week the weather reports were calling for severe thunder storms for our schedule. We didn't give in. We went hoping for the best.  Tho, the weather was on and off, we managed to get some fun in between the two rain storms with tiny hail once.

Bike riding filled our time mostly since the pools weren't weather friendly yet.
I clicked right at 7,000 steps on the first day as bike ride monitor.

We definitely will make this a summer-go-to favorite.

They Said "I DO"

The wedding day was here. After months of planning and parties and showers, our last and his fiancĂ© repeated their vows at a local southern plantation.

There were a lot of bridesmaids. There were nine.

And nine groomsmen.

Plus 2 ring bearers and 2 flower girls.

Amidst laughter and a few tears, they became Mr. & Mrs.

Their first dance. Then guests on the dance floor all night with a great interactive band.

The night ended with their walk thru sparklers held high and into a waiting limousine.

Congratulations !!

Doggie Doings

I'm a softee when it comes to hosting grand dogs. It's not my first rodeo at dog sitting.

Joy gets treated equally well. The weather forecast was for a rainy/stormy night. So we brought her in for the night. With things being different and all you know. She was more than happy to oblige.

I made her a pink bed and she claimed it as hers.

By late night she was out like a light.

Morning came. Then noon. And she was still inside. I took her on a run/walk/bathroom stop and came right back in. She choose a few dog toys from Poochie's stash and played quietly with an occasional squeak from a toy.

Plans were to put her out shortly. But one thing led to another and she stayed in again for a second night.

She slept good that night. This is where she was the next morning.

What have I created?

Guest

We're doggie sitting one of the grand dogs. Joy is her name and her parents are facing real life moments:
* sold a house
* no closing date on the new house
* they are homeless
* so living with the aunt of the bride-to-be which is also their realtor
* getting married in less than two weeks
* going on a week long honey moon
* and, have no where to leave the dog for about 3 weeks.

First a sibling kept Joy. Only for three days. She barked all night and escaped out under the privacy fence.

Then they tried a dog sitter for two days. Which would be great if it wasn't over $400 a month fee for her services.

We're trying next. We requested a dog house along with the dog. So far. So good. We haven't heard a peep out of her. The first night she slept in her dog house all night till 8am the next morning when I went to check on her. She came our stretching and wagging her tail.

She's eating well. We feed her more than we were instructed too. She may go
home a little heavier than when she arrived.

I take her for walks and she trots around looking for her mom and dad.

But she's a little saddened not knowing why her life is all upside down. I tell her they'll all be back together at their new home ASAP.

Side by side

On a majority of our RV trips some of our kids and their family would meet us and camp with us. I enjoyed being the hostess, mawmaw on the scene, and in charge. But, one group loved it so much they purchased their own camper. Now they want to follow us and camp out beside us.

They made their initial trip and invited us along beside them. It was really the same for me. I still was the mawmaw on scene and we hosted the breakfast each morning. Only difference was that we slept 2 instead of 6. A big difference. Quieter and roomier.

It was a quick close-by stay and an off season weekend not crowded. I took advantage of an early morning walk. We're early risers. They're sleepy heads. We had planned the meal schedules as to who would do which. So we were heads up on getting things ready and done. We rode bikes both days, all day.

They hosted the bonfire and smores' night. Marshmallow toasting memories will last forever.

Smores' seemed to hit the spot.

The fire was roaring with a slight chill in the air.

And a lovely rare moon that night makes the case for a camping weekend life.
