My September project was table runners.
They are very simple and quick to make. They are about 12 -18 inches wide, and the lengths vary from 48 inches to 72 inches. Measure the length of the table and add several inches depending how long you want the runner to hang over.
They are lined with some silky
satiny ivory fabric I've had for a
long long long time.
I did buy some fringe, beading,
and tassels for trim.
The fabric I bought in 5 yard remnants from a fabric outlet store. So I still have fabric left for something else, one day!
Finish them off by spraying with magic sizing or spray starch and iron them. Place something over the lining and the top, because --- the hot iron will scorch the satiny fabric very quick, trust me!!
And then spray with scotch guard so they will be easy to wipe off with a damp cloth and keep clean. Don't be afraid to use them.
These make nice gifts to give. You can make them too. No pattern needed!!

Those table runners are lovely, Gin. Did you make those? I would not mind having one, if I only had a table - LOL - honest!
ReplyDelete(I just have a portable crafts table that folds away) because I replaced my dining room with an office since I generally don't dine.
