Friend ...

I been looking around, but couldn't really decide, because I really didn't know what I needed. I needed one that could do everything. But I find that does not exist. So I made friends with this one.


An embroidery/monogramming machine is just what I needed. Colorful, creative, and certainly time consuming.  It already has some built in embroidery designs and monogram fonts. But, hey, I wanted more.

It took me forever to find some additional embroidery designs online. Again, I really didn't know what the heck I needed or what I was looking for.  But so glad the google thing was so helpful. I did purchase some "free" embroidery designs from different sites. That was easy click, click, click and then the site just emailed me my "free" designs. The hard part -- following the instructions on how to download them into my USB ready machine.  That took me days and days and then it just clicked in my little head what to do and voila -- it worked.

 I also ordered a $13.00 cd with 399 folders of embroidery designs from a website. It arrived in 2 days. It took me almost 2 weeks to figure out the 6 step-by-step directions. It really was very very simple. Why I couldn't see that on the first try, I Don't Know!

So now I am getting the hang of things.

More Birthday

A day out with family.  For birthday dinner at Maria's Mexican a while back.


It was delicious.

We had other plans to continue the celebration day. Like a little shopping at the D.S. Antique Village. But it was cold out. Cold, wet, and rainy. So we opted for a quick drive back here for warmth, dessert, and relaxing.

Bath time

I took some time to take care of the pup. She needed a grooming. So I took it upon myself to beautify her. Bath, cut, and brush.

 After surviving only one bite mark, she looks remarkably better.  I on the other hand have a bite mark on my hand.

Warm

Since it's turned warm, no one wants to stay inside. Get out and do some gardening, planting, grass cutting, etc. And we threw in a little fishing on the side.. It was not a keeper. It measured too long and too big.   The lake regulations read you have to throw them back. You can't keep the monster. That is strange to me --- it's just a fish.

Science

It's the equinox gravity thing going on tonight. All you need is a broom.

It's a great conversation piece. It works for some. It doesn't work for others. No one knows why.
But I tried it. And on the first try it is doing what it is suppose to be doing. It's standing up by itself.  It's about gravity and the equinox of the moon. I think that's what it is about.

And no, it is not halloween. There was no witch flying in on the broom. Just to set husband straight. Because he is not quite sure about this.

I'm not a scientist, you know.  But little things like this I can experiment with and really quite enjoy.  But it will only work tonight, so they say. My broom is still standing. I am going to leave it standing up and see if it falls by itself by in  the morning.

We're having a baby, too !!!

But it's not all about me. It's all about the mommy-and-daddy-to-be.
But around September 27  it will be all about the baby. And I can go wild spoiling this lil' one. Why wait? I can start the spoiling now.

Rewinding the week

Last week I enjoyed my early birthday cake. Nothing's wrong with getting older. I love it. I love birthday cake. And my kids never fail me by "surprising" me with my Gambino's birthday cake. Besides being so pretty, It is delicious. Birthdays should come more often. I don't need presents. Just the cake will do.

I cut and served the cake and even made rounds for seconds.

Made a trip to one of the top 10 places on our list to eat for my personal birthday dinner. It was quite the surprise. We got in the truck and on the interstate and started driving south. The husband already had it in mind where we were going. When leaving I begged the husband to buy me a tshirt. There was a lot of good reason to spend the extra $12.95 It could be kinda like a souvenir. It was for a good cause, some of the proceeds were going to charity. And we were celebrating my birthday. And one cannot have too many tshirts. A light blue one with a fish on it would be just fine.

 Just me and the husband. No kids invited. No family. Just us. Lovely. Delicious. This could become habit forming.  I didn't even need a to-go box for leftovers. There was none. Every single crumb melted in my mouth.

Made a quick detour downtown to husbands former work place for business he had to attend to.
It was nice taking in the views while I sat in the truck waiting. He is going to miss this place I think.

 The mail man must have know it was my birthday. A package was left for me. Thank you

A lot's been going on.

Did I mention we've retired?   Well, technically, not me. But husband has retired. With a 6oth birthday celebration in January and a 42 year career with his employer he has officially become a retiree.

I consider myself retired  too. Cause I am going to take it easy by slacking on the cooking, cleaning, and anything that has to do with housework.

We've been doing some fishing. It's been nice weather --- in the high 60's, like 68 degrees.

We've been doing a lot of eating out.  We really have to get a handle on this retirement thing. We have no structure in our life. Eating when we want and where we want. We don't even know what a noon time lunch is anymore.  And sometimes we just skip dinner.

A few projects around the house is coming together.

It's only been a month, but retirement is fun.

Enjoyed the scenic view on the water. It was getting late. The sun and rolling clouds were both taking up space  in the sky.
