Many years ago as a young child I watched my grandma, and several aunts crochet their little fingers off. There were a lot of girls in the family--grandma, aunts, sisters, cousins; But it was me, out of all the youngest generation at the time, who came away with the art of crocheting. This month so far I have made some little pink baby booties. They are for a co-workers baby-to-be.
I love to make these. They are fast, easy, and so adorable. I might just make these all month long. I can donate them to the local Crisis Pregnancy Center.
Also, I made a St. Patrick's Day decoration. It's for a YOE swap challenge. She supplied the link with the instructions. It too is fast and easy. It's a shamrock garland. Really cute!!
So with hook in hand and yarns of all kinds, I'm off to crochet (as the French would say)!

Gin! Those booties are so sweet! I wish I was a baby! Hee-hee! ♥
ReplyDeleteI love those baby booties. They look so delicate and I've always been a big fan of the color pink - the paler, the better ;-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe I need to post something on my side bar about my crocheting challenge because so far you're my only crochet-a-long participant.
Happy hooking, as we crocheters say!
Yours,
Doris :-)
Gin - those baby booties are precious - they look so soft and delicate - I know your co-worker will be very pleased to receive these. I agree with you when you say - - you were taught by the very best ! Maw-Maw sure crochet a lot - - (as well as quilting). Those crochet winter slippers are also a 'popular item' !
ReplyDeleteHey Gin, just checking on you. The booties remind me of my Nana. She use to take cheep plastic dolls (I've seen them in cake making kits) the size of a barbie and crochet dresses for them. She must have made all her granddaughters a dozen or so. I widh I had kept one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work.
Oh, I joined the polkadot apron swap! See ya around.
